What is Mind-Body Medicine?

  • Mind-body Medicine is a holistic approach to well-being that takes into account all aspects of an individual – physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.
  • Mind-body medicine is a two-way street – it focuses on how thoughts and emotions impact our physical health and how physical health influences thoughts, emotions, and our sense of who we are.

What are the benefits of mind-body medicine?

    Mind-body skills can be used to

The Mind-Body Center of Louisiana specifically aims to:

  • Teach mind- body techniques such as meditation, yoga, autogenic training and biofeedback, guided imagery, journaling, creative and artistic expression, integrative nutrition, exercise, and breath work.
  • Train health and mental health providers, teachers, first responders, and interested individuals in the use of mind-body skills.
  • Organize, implement, and support mind-body research in partnership with local, state, and national organizations and funders.
  • Promote the integration of mind-body modalities into existing health, mental health, and educational organizations.
